Weight lifting is a form of High Intensity Training that will raise your heartbeat much higher than a slow cardio workout. Many people spend a lot of time on the treadmill, or on the elliptical, and fail to see the results they desire. Although any exercise will benefit you, weight lifting will burn fat more efficiently in a less amount of time. It is also said that bodies with higher percentages in muscle, have a higher metabolic rate than those with more fat.
