3. Be a joint account holder
If you don't meet the required income and are not approved for any of the credit cards you desire, an easier alternative is having someone close to you such as your parents or a family friend with great credit sign you up as a joint account holder. Doing this would give you access to their credit card and also build your own credit. It can be challenging to find someone close to you that's willing to do this, but if you are responsible with your money and pay the bill on time, you can not only build credit in your name, but improve your joint account holder's credit score as well!
